This and so much more. Shohei has traveled the world over to learn from the Masters of Guitar. He has sat at their feet to internalize their 'soulful' music. He brings to the world a form of fingerpicking unique and energetic.
"I've listened to many artists, but it's Shohei's music that helps me to rebalance my life when I'm stressed . . . " says one fan from Columbus Ohio.
His hope is always that you take away a new sound reaching into the very depths of your heart, and that he has touched your life in a positive and healing manner.
Born in Japan, raised in Ohio. Shohei always had connection to music all his life, from his mothers piano lessons, middle school concert band to being professional guitarist.
Shohei moved to Boston in 2004 for music college. He pursued his study through numerous genres of music including Jazz, Funk, Irish, Afro Pop, latin, etc. He studied with many well known professional musicians, such as John Mcgann and Guy Van Duser.
Afterwards, he officially started his solo guitar career in 2009, playing at local open mics at bars and coffee houses, solo shows at major music venues, playing at music fesitaval... and getting positive attention. He has also started teaching guitar privately towards students with ages ranging from 20s to 60s, beginner to advance.
Shohei currently resides in Kyoto Japan to further pursue his career as a solo guitarist and educator.
He is proud owner of Lichty Guitars which is hand-made by Mr.Jay Lichty in Tryon, North Calorina
